Michael
Jackson was a famous pop singer who was usually called by his nickname “the
king of pop”. He was well-knows all around the world and he was also
outstanding for his dance moves such as the “Moonwalk”, for creating stories in
the music videos of his songs and for bleaching his skin and modifying his face
structure.
Jackson was
born in Gary, Indiana on 19th August, 1958. He grew up in a large fairly
poor family with 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Both of Michael’s parents loved
music; his father played the guitar in an R & B band and his mother sang
and played the piano, so when Michael was 8, his parents realized that he was a
gifted singer and dancer. Three of his older brothers formed a band, then, Michael
and another sibling joined them and ended up naming the band “Jackson 5” which
won several talent shows, and their album had a lot of success.
Later on,
when Michael was the lead singer of the band, he had become very famous and
couldn’t go to school because of the fans mobbing him. While all of this
happened, he also released a number of solo albums with several hit songs which
made him become one of the biggest stars in music. However, his biggest goal was
releasing the “Thriller” album in 1982.
His private
life was kind of strange; he lived in a large complex named Neverland Ranch
which had a part of house and part of amusement park. He was married twice and
had 2 children and another one with an unknown mother. An interesting fact
about him is that he purchased the rights to the Beetles catalogue in 1985 for
$47 million. Michael Jackson died of a heart attack likely caused by drugs he
took to help him sleep on June 25, 2009 when he was fifty years old.
