Because of all of the changing
process that has been happening these past years, now almost every school of
the first world has some type of technology at their classes, but what about
the pros and cons of its use?
On
the one hand, having the possibility of owning a computer (or event tablets for
each student at the richer schools) reachable for students and teachers is a
very helpful point because the lessons can be more dynamic and entertaining by
playing games, watching movies, of doing online activities which is the best
way to learn new things according to different studies. What is more, teachers
will have access to the Internet and its browsers to search for useful
information or to approve a statement given in class that wasn’t 100% sure.
On
the other hand, however, having all these devices in class can cause many
disadvantages for children and a bad use of them. Because of the direct
connection between devices, students may get distracted while using their
mobile phones because of text messages or game notifications and won’t pay much
attention to what they had to do in class. It also happens that with all of the
accessible sites of information and with already-given answers activities,
students don’t work for themselves and if some do, it is just a tiny bit
percent of their capacity of independent working.
To
conclude, I would say that everything has their advantages and disadvantages
and it all depends on the use people give to their reachable options.
